I'm guessing by the file name that this is CORE related.

Since updating to version 25.1 in Windows 10, I've started getting frequent crashes on quit with the error:

Assertion failed!
File: ..\..\Sources\hdipuiBasePlugin.cpp
Line 99
Expression: false

Is there anything I can do to help locate the problem?

This is a bug introduced by Adobe in Illustrator 25.1. The latest version of hdi_core works around it, and will be released later today.
