GUI CS5 and CS6 alignment & images - VincentDoan - 03-11-2014

I created the panel for CS5, aligned the elements contained, but when view in CS6 the alignments are off and the panel height is shorter, hence clipping the containing elements.

Also, when hovering the mouse (CS6) to an image button, the image does not change as seen in CS5.

Look like also you have to create 2 different set of .png images for GUI elements, one for CS3-CS5 and one for CS6-CC?

Do you mean that the panel height is actually shorter or does it just appear that way because the UI elements are larger? My guess is the latter. UI elements are not perfect between (CS3, CS4, CS5) and (CS6, CC). That's because ADM is used in CS3, CS4 and CS5 while Mac and Win platform code is used on CS6 and CC. We got them as close as we reasonably could, but it will never be perfect.

My strategy is to make the layout perfect in CS6 and CC, while allowing CS3, CS4 and CS5 to be slightly off because there are far fewer users in the older versions. Our current data (as of right now) shows <1% using CS3, 2% using CS4, 13% using CS5, 49% using CS6 and 36% using CC.

ADM used a rollover image, but CS6 and CC do not. They simply change the color of the background behind the image. Unfortunately, we have not yet implemented the background changing behavior, but it is on our list to do.

Thanks Brendon, I just need this confirmation. Will do what you suggested.
